University of Central Florida

A message from the 2016 Honors Congress President:

Congratulations on your acceptance into the University of Central Florida and the prestigious Burnett Honors College! Your decision to attend UCF and join our Honors family will undoubtedly mark your college career as an important milestone in your educational journey. Here in the Honors College, we strive to create an environment conducive to students’ personal, professional, and academic growth. One of the easiest ways to get involved and become a true member of the Honors atmosphere is to join Honors Congress, the official student organization of the Burnett Honors College. The mission of Honors Congress is to provide students with leadership opportunities, networking avenues, and access to events made by honors students, for honors students. As the 2016 Honors Congress President and on behalf of your 2016 Honors Congress Officer Board, I would like to invite you to join us this upcoming school year! As a member of Honors Congress you will be able to take advantage of the following:

• All Honors Congress Volunteer, Social, Academic, etc. events

• An Honors Congress t-shirt upon paying dues

• Leadership opportunities

• Luncheons with Distinguished Speakers and Guests

During my time as an active member of Honors Congress, I have assisted children at the Give Kids the World Village, zip lined over alligators at GatorLand, walked in support of Relay for Life, and danced on tables at Taverna Opa. Honors Congress has enhanced my college experience beyond belief and I know that you will not find a more welcoming, dynamic family anywhere on UCF’s immense campus. The leadership skills, connections to campus organizations and staff, and memories I have cultivated will serve me in the remainder of my UCF career, and I invite you to take advantage of these same opportunities!

For a one-time membership fee of $60.00 you will receive a free t-shirt, and membership in one of the most recognized, competitive, and rewarding student-run organizations on campus. You will acquire leadership skills, resume building experience, and a place in our close-knit Honors family. I sincerely hope you will consider joining us in Honors Congress, and if you have already made the decision to do so, then welcome to the family!
